Forrest Dougan

by Forrest Dougan on December 2, 2008

Forrest Dougan, who writes about economics and politics for the Men in Suits column, is a student at the University of Missouri attempting a BS Economics/Statistics dual-major.

In his hometown of Webster Groves, Mo., Forrest realized early that politics is a simplified parody of business and that the world runs on liquidity. There, he started a Model United Nations program at his high school, served as a chapter president and regional vice president of a marketing association, and captained varsity lacrosse for two years.

Forrest now tutors foreign students in English, works with the campus TOMS Shoes Organization, and is a member of Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity. His ultimate goal is to manage a large-scale brewery, or something even cooler than that (but really, what’s cooler than that?); for the present, he hopes simply to explain his views on the changing state and power of the world economy to readers.

In his spare time, Forrest enjoys following developing design/architecture, reading/writing, outdoor activities ranging from cycling to climbing to running, and coffee — lots of it.
